Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Austin, Texas

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity in the Healthcare, Hospitals, and Social Assistance industry located in Austin, Texas. This role is for a Sr. Accountant who will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with established accounting policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Setting up spreadsheets or other necessary work papers to support journal entries to the general or subsidiary ledgers.

• Coordinating the posting of entries to the general and subsidiary ledgers to maintain a timely close process.

• Conducting monthly reviews of the general ledger trial balance to ensure accuracy and reasonableness.

• Reviewing existing procedures for recording financial transactions to identify opportunities for improvement.

• Generating accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.

• Reconciling the general ledger control accounts to the subsidiary ledgers balance regularly.

• Reviewing, examining, and approving entries posted to subsidiary and general ledgers for accuracy and compliance with established accounting policies and procedures.

• Independently researching into errors in coding of expenses monthly and developing correcting entries as needed.

• Consolidating companies and making eliminating entries as required.

• Providing written monthly analysis of cost trends. Requirements • Must possess a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar field.

• Proven experience as a senior accountant in the healthcare, hospitals, or social assistance industry is required.

• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Proficiency in accounting software, specifically NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP is necessary.

• Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas and functions.

• Demonstrated experience in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations.

• Familiarity with preparing and posting journal entries.

• Ability to handle month-end close procedures with precision.

• Exceptional numerical proficiency and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Must be able to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Relevant certification (e.g., CMA, CPA) will be considered an advantage.
