JMT a multi-faceted engineering, architecture and project management firm is seeking an experienced, proactive, and innovative Senior Project Manager to join our growing Central Texas team who provide consulting services to Owners who are embarking on capital improvement projects and bond programs. This is an opportunity for the right candidate to join a rapidly growing, exciting organization and to expand their knowledge, capabilities, and level of responsibility in one of the fastest growing areas in the country.

The successful candidate will be responsible for: (1) providing construction project oversite for the institutional, higher Ed, municipal, county government and state agency markets, using knowledge of general design and construction methods and practices to interpret, organize, coordinate, communicate and execute assignments as necessary to accomplish the goals and objectives defined by the client, (2) ensuring work is performed and completed in strict accordance with the contract documents, (3) acting as a technical advisor to the Owner and other team members, (4) teaching and mentoring less experienced team members, and (5) other tasks which includes support in business development, financial success, reporting to the Central Texas Office Leader, and internal Senior Leadership.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Direct the day-to-day project activities of assigned projects, staff and consultants

  • Provide recommendations regarding staff and consultant performance

  • Attend client meetings, representing the company to the client,outside companies and other governmental entities

  • Represent the client at meetings with administrative boards, committees, and regulatory authorities having jurisdiction over the assigned projects

  • Prepare Master schedules and budgets, lead Value Engineering efforts and coordinate design and construction activities between the key stakeholders

  • Produce project reports, and manage schedule, process pay applications, and change orders

  • Assure quality control of assigned projects

  • Manage field construction managers and inspectors

  • Provide leadership for project team members, assisting with their professional and technical advancement

  • Assists other Project Managers in accomplishment of their projects, as needed

  • Assume appropriate duties to assure the smooth operation of all projects and proper distribution of resources

  • Organize, coordinate, and execute on objectives with minimal oversight, a strong attention to detail, a high level of professionalism and with appropriate timeliness

  • Understand local existing and targeted client‘s programs and what future project opportunities are available

  • Coordinate strategic growth plan with office managers and practice leaders

  • Coordinate teaming efforts with similar type firms in the industry

  • Manage financial budget for department and allocate resources accordingly

  • Lead and contribute to the production of proposals

  • Interview, hire and develop staff for the section

  • Prepare technical and price proposals for projects and task orders

  • Manage project sub-Consultants

Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field from an accredited program

  • Professional Engineer License, Architectural Registration or equivalent

  • 10+ years’ experience in project management from design through construction

  • Business development experience

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with institutional, higher Ed, municipal, county government and state agency clients

  • Supervisory experience

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
