Job Title: Senior Database Administrator (Oracle & PostgreSQL DBA)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States

Hybrid/Remote/Onsite?: Open to remote or onsite candidates

Must Haves: We are looking for someone with 5 plus years of strong technical skills/knowledge of all aspects of Oracle & PostgreSQL databases administration on Linux Platforms. Installation, Patching, Code Deployments, Upgrades, Migrations, Backup, Restore and Recovery, High Availability configuration/setups, Troubleshooting production issues and Projects support.

SUMMARY

• Evaluates new database technologies and tools in the industry. Sets database system administration and programming standards, applies database technology to business problems, manages development and production database environments with emphasis on security, availability, and performance. Enables High Availability/Disaster Recovery solutions. Determines appropriateness of data for storage and optimum storage organization. Codes complex programs and derives logical processes on technical platforms. Creates sustainable and maintainable tools to automate database provisioning, patching, monitoring, metrics, maintenance, and administration. Enables self-service capabilities for Product teams to use. Provides database services in compliance with all audit and regulatory requirements. Secures database systems by developing automated patching and certificate management. Proactively manages incidents via Monitoring and AI/ML. May be responsible for technical administration of multiple enterprise application suites, such as ERP and CRM.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Designs, implements, and maintains database systems.

• Evaluates new database products and versions. Certifies them for Dell environment as required.

• Assists management of vendor relationships and the definition of vendor product feature sets

• Designs, develops, and drives global implementation of database standards, tools, and procedures.

• Designs and implements database systems to meet business requirements across multiple platforms and in compliance with design standards.

• Provides database operations support and monitors databases and backups.

• Ensures database availability, capacity, performance, security, and recoverability.

• Performs tuning, capacity planning, health checks, backups, recovery, and change management according to documented standards.

• Supports project teams with database related activities throughout the software development lifecycle providing guidance on best practices and standards.

• Ensures database security controls meet internal and external audit and compliance requirements. Secures database systems by developing automated patching and certificate management.

• Enables High Availability/Disaster Recovery solutions.

• Proactively manages incidents via AI/ML.

• Implements database technologies for global standards, data classification, and data privacy according to regulatory guidelines.

• Enables self-service capabilities for Product teams.

• Preforms Data replication across data centers.

• Automates routine administration activities like provisioning, patching, monitoring, health check and other administration activities.
