Must be enrolled in an engineering or related science degree program in an accredited college or university accepted by TX PELS. Assists in transportation engineering support work such as construction or maintenance inspection, structural construction or maintenance, laboratory work, landscaping, surveying or engineering data collection, operating data collection equipment, and other entry-level engineering support work. Employees at this level perform assignments following specific instructions and are subject to frequent review by the immediate supervisor.Essential Duties:Develops spreadsheets, databases, and other electronic documents in support of engineering design for transportation projectsPerforms data entry and computer-aided analysis including traffic and safety analysis.Uses drafting equipment and performs computer-aided 2D/3D design drafting and calculating work.Assists with surveying, remote sensing, and photogrammetry projects.Assists with the review of engineering submittals including preliminary bridge layouts, schematics, final design/construction drawings and other associated engineering details and documents.Assists with hydrology and hydraulics engineering design and plan review for highway projects.Assists with landscape architecture design work and plan review for highway projects.Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
