Role Description:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented freelance Proofreader to join our team on an ongoing, remote basis. As a proofreader, you will ensure all written materials are thoroughly reviewed for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and overall consistency before they are delivered to clients. You will be responsible for cross-referencing input documents, marked-up revisions, and ensuring clarity and accuracy across various content types. This is a part-time freelance opportunity with flexible hours, but you must be local to Austin, TX, or able to work within the CST time zone.

Responsibilities:

• Proofread and edit a variety of content for accuracy, clarity, and consistency

• Ensure all materials align with client instructions and marked-up revision documents

• Review and correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors

• Collaborate with internal teams to clarify any unclear revisions or content issues

• Maintain consistency across all projects while adhering to brand guidelines and style requirements

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a professional proofreader with a keen eye for detail

• Strong understanding of grammar, punctuation, and style conventions

• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members

• Ability to manage multiple projects with varying deadlines

• Familiarity with advertising, marketing, or related industries is a plus

• Experience in translation or multilingual content review is a bonus
