Summary of Role:

GF is looking for an experienced contract manager to drive negotiations and the contracting process, including execution and post-execution management of new technology agreements, in areas related to semiconductor manufacturing process technology, EDA and design IP, and product design; provide advice related to the above. The successful candidate will p artner closely with GF’s business and technical teams on the objectives for the agreement and work closely with IP/technology law attorneys on the legal terms and negotiation of the agreement.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Drive negotiations and the contracting process for key Technology Agreements, with GlobalFoundries customers, government agencies, universities, consortia and suppliers. Activities may include working with tool vendors, as well as EDA and design IP providers.

  • Define the primary objectives of the contracts in alignment with GF stakeholders including NRE payments, license terms, and deliverables.

  • Manage ongoing contract administration and business management associated with these multi-year agreements.

  • Support special projects on an as-needed basis.

  • The work is complex, requiring the ability to understand and operate at the intersection of GF’s technologies, business objectives, and technology law objectives.

Other Responsibilities:

  • The role requires the ability to identify issues and problem solve, and the ability to work effectively with different stakeholders across all departments within the company and with third parties.

  • The role requires the ability to lead multidisciplinary projects and initiatives having a high impact on the company’s future success.

  • Create formal networks with key decision makers and serves as external spokesperson for the organization.

  • Partner with senior executives (CEO/COO/staff) both within and outside of the company to influence business decisions.

Required Qualifications

  • A solid understanding of the semiconductor foundry business including an understanding of GF’s business, operations, and technologies, as well as those of our ecosystem partners (such as tool vendors, material and IP suppliers, development partners, and customers).

  • Prior experience in the semiconductor industry and in drafting and negotiating technology agreements (e.g. technology in-licenses, out-licenses, development agreements).

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • B.S. or higher degree in engineering, a physical science, or mathematics; a J.D. is not required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formal negotiation skill training.

  • Experience with government contracting

Expected Salary Range

$116,200.00 - $220,000.00

The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
