Amazon Integration Architect, OpsTech IT in Austin, Texas

Description

Amazon's OpsTech IT Integration team seeks an Integration Architect who will lead the advancement of Supply Chain technology. This role involves solving real-world problems and revolutionizing customer experiences. The team focuses on developing a cutting-edge integration platform—a highly scalable system that facilitates extensive data exchange and aids processes crucial for Amazon's rapid growth.

This role serves as an Integration Architect with expertise in architect, design, maintain and support middleware solutions that facilitate seamless communication and integration between various software applications, systems, and databases within an organization. They will drive seamless integration solutions across multiple application systems within our scope. This role entails fostering effective teamwork, communication, partnership, and commitment.

The ideal candidate will pioneer mechanisms and processes to enhance speed and scalability within our environment. This fast-paced team presents significant opportunities for self-motivated individuals who thrive on challenges, innovation, prioritize exceptional customer experiences, and can successfully oversee complex programs from inception to completion.

Key job responsibilities

• Integration Strategies: Collaborate with software developers, architects, and other IT teams to integrate applications and systems, ensuring seamless functionality across the organization

• Solution Development: Develop, configure, and implement middleware technologies such as message queues, API gateways, Apache NiFi or other integration tools to facilitate data exchange and streamline processes

• Architecture Design: Design robust and scalable integration architectures utilizing Oracle and AWS technologies, middleware, APIs, and connectors to achieve secure and efficient data exchange between diverse systems and modules. Also Implement security measures and adhere to compliance standards to ensure data integrity and protection during integration processes

• Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Monitor middleware performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize configurations to maintain system efficiency and reliability

• Collaboration and Leadership: Partner closely with cross-functional teams, providing technical leadership, guidance, and expertise to ensure successful integration projects.

A day in the life

• System Assessment and Planning: Reviewing integration requirements and assessing existing systems. Planning integration strategies and approaches based on business needs

• Middleware Configuration and Development: Developing connectors or adapters to enable seamless communication between systems

• Integration Implementation: Actively working on integrating various applications, databases, or systems

• Collaboration and Communication: Collaborating with software developers, architects, and other IT teams. Communicating progress updates, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent

  • Proficiency in middle-ware technologies such as Apache NiFi, message brokers, API gateways, etc.

  • Strong understanding of integration patterns, protocols, and standards (REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, etc.)

  • Knowledge of security protocols and compliance standards related to data integration

  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues

  • A lead resource in defining systems strategy, developing systems requirements, designing and prototyping practical business solutions, identifying and consulting with clients on business process transformation, optimization and best-practice initiatives, testing, training, managing go-live and system cut overs, defining support procedures

  • Possess a complete and thorough knowledge of SOX compliance regulations, including their implications on software development practices, data handling, and security measures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of Software development experience

  • Familiarity with cloud-based integration technologies and architectures

  • Certifications in AWS services or cloud technologies are advantageous

  • Experience in designing and implementing scalable and reliable middleware solutions

  • Experience with any middleware platforms like Apache Kafka/NiFi, MuleSoft, IBM WebSphere or similar tools

  • Ability to think abstractly and deal with ambiguous/undefined problems

  • Obsession with quality, operational excellence, and customer experience

  • Experience taking a leading role in building complex software system

  • Demonstrated ability to manage tradeoffs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams
