Work with individual student to conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher.Assist assigned student throughout school day, inside and outside classroom.Provide approved behavior management and intervention. This includes intervening in crisis situations and restraining disruptive or student behavior as needed.Tutor student(s) as assigned.Keep the teacher informed of any special needs or problems of the student.Help students take care of physical needs and personal care including feeding, bathroom needs, and personal hygiene.Assume responsibility for learning and adapting to each students special medical, physical, communicative, and emotional needs.Work with assigned student and/or small groups to develop motor skills and conduct instructional exercises assigned by teacher.Assist the teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displaysAssist the teacher in collecting and maintaining student data, administrative records and preparing required reports. Assist with assessment as assigned.Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and state and local board policyProvide supervision of the classroom in the absence of the teacher. Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers when needed.Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events, as required.Other duties as assigned.
