Robert Half HR Generalist in Austin, Texas

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an HR Generalist based in Austin, Texas. The HR Generalist will be integral to our team, supporting various HR functions including recruitment, pay administration, benefits coordination, and employee relations.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation and processing of semi-monthly payroll for staff across multiple states

• Ensuring compliance with applicable labor laws, including minimum wage requirements, overtime pay, and child labor laws

• Coordination of employee benefits such as health insurance, disability insurance, life insurance, and retirement plans

• Management of employee leave requests, including approving leave, tracking time off, and calculating pay while employees are out of work

• Recruitment, interviewing, and facilitating the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions

• Reviewing, tracking, and documenting compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments

• Assisting in the development and delivery of staff training on required topics

• Conducting background checks and verifying employee eligibility

• Implementing new hire orientation and employee recognition programs

• Maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and reviewing policies and practices to maintain compliance

• Tracking and maintaining all Labor Law posters electronically and maintaining employee acknowledgements

• Providing support and backup to the HR Manager. Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in an HR Generalist role

• Professional certification in Human Resources (e.g., PHR, SPHR) is a plus.

• Knowledge of Benefit Functions and Compensation Administration

• Strong understanding of Compliance procedures in HR

• Expertise in handling Employee Relations

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
