UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN Food Preparation/Service Worker (32 hour / 9 month) in AUSTIN, Texas
Serve high-quality products during open dining hours, which may include performing short-order and made-to-order cooking using commercial production and kitchen equipment. Read, follow, and execute recipes based on culinary standards. Communicate professionally and effectively with staff, supervisory staff, and/or customers.Greet and interact with internal and external customers in a professional and enthusiastic manner while providing excellent customer service as needed. Maintain current knowledge of all areas of responsibility. Set up, stock, clean and replenish serving area before/during service. Break down and clean all serving areas, workstations and equipment after service. Ensure detailed cleaning tasks are completed throughout the shift. Conduct inventory of items in dry storage areas, coolers, freezers, and beverage stations. Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation guidelines. Ensure proper labeling and storage of products. Maintain temperature logs throughout shift and ensure food is cooked and maintains appropriate temperature throughout service. Avoid cross contamination and actively monitor food quality. Seek direction at the beginning of the shift and keep open communication with management and staff throughout the shift. Collect and document production paperwork before, during, and after service.Assist with cashiering duties when needed. Adhere to written and oral University and UHD policies such as time and attendance and UHD / UT trainings and compliance. Complete and maintain required food safety training, including Texas Food Handler Safety. Follow work safety guidelines and utilize proper PPE as needed. Other duties as assigned.
