Summary:

This position is offered in our client's Product Safety Engineering department within their Product Integrity organization. Our client's mission is to ensure that their products are safe for use throughout the world and comply with worldwide safety requirements. The Product Safety Group seeks an energetic, poised, and detail-oriented technician with a background in analyzing field returns to support the Safety Engineering department.

If you have professional experience troubleshooting, taking apart, tearing down, or working on the hardware of Apple/Mac/iOS products, this position would be a good fit for you.

Description:

The Product Safety Group seeks a qualified technician who will:

  • Develop a deep understanding of our client's products and work with cross-functional teams to identify and evaluate customer returns.

  • Conduct careful disassembly of products, provide quality analysis of products, utilizing tools such as camera, microscope, x-ray, and other analytical equipment.

  • Manage shipping/receiving processes to efficiently receive, return and track all shipments.

  • Work to improve and implement world class data collection and reporting systems.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of evaluating the field performance of consumer products.

  • Knowledge of Apple/Mac/iOS products and experience taking them apart, particularly iOS devices.

  • A natural leader driven to provide consistent and accurate results.

  • Someone who can both be confident to work independently and be a good team member.

  • Knowledge and/or ability to train on use of hand tools and electronic measurement equipment including digital multimeters, electronic loads, thermocouples, etc.

  • Problem solving ability utilizing creative and innovative thinking.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • World class organizational skills that can be used to build consensus on what an issue is and how to address it.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or three-plus years of experience in evaluating the field performance of consumer products.
