What is the Texas Facilities Commission (TFC):

The Texas Facilities Commission (TFC) builds, supports, maintains, and manages over 28 million square feet of state-owned and leased facilities that house over 62,000 state employees in over 100 state agencies, all working in the service of the citizens of Texas. TFC oversees a varied property portfolio of office space, storage, warehouses, parking garages, and grounds of buildings across 283 cities and towns in Texas. Our team provides and contracts for the design and construction, property management, landscaping and custodial services, recycling and waste management services, building climate and energy automation, and the fire and security services required to keep State agencies working for our constituents.

The Position: The Texas Facilities Commission is seeking a Security Controls Service Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital role in ensuring the security and functionality of our buildings by overseeing and conducting repairs and maintenance on a variety of electronic security systems.

You will be a part of a team of security controls service technicians that have oversite of the installation, repair, and maintenance of the following: Intrusion and panic alarm systems, automated door operators, automated gate systems, and CCTV video surveillance systems. The following products are typically utilized in our portfolio: Lenel S2, Milestone VMS, LifeSafety Power, Von-Duprin, Hanwha, Axis, Bosch, Lift-Master, HID, 3-Mil, Hes, DMP, Record, Horton, Best, Norton, Schlage, Dorma, Falcon, LCN and many more.

You will use your technical knowledge and experience to ensure access-controlled points within our portfolio are well maintained. We are looking for someone that cares about quality over quantity, can spot vulnerabilities, and can produce ideal solutions to help make our properties as secure as possible. The ideal candidate should possess a high school diploma or a GED and

have three (3) years of experience in installing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electronic equipment and must possess the ability to attest to and maintain the security or integrity of the states critical infrastructure requirement to be considered for hire and to maintain employment.

ESSENTIAL

FUNCTIONS

Safely performs duties in accordance with the regulations of the National Electric Code (NEC). Ensure adherence to all safety protocols.

Install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot electronic security equipment including:

Access control equipment

Automated gate operator equipment

Intrusion alarm and panic equipment

Automated door operator equipment

Electronic and manual door hardware
