We are seeking a self-motivated, ownership-minded, and nimble Design Program Manager to be a force-multiplier for the Amazon Business UX Design operation team, amplifying our efforts and impact. You will be a key member of the team, with the freedom to experiment, improve, invent, and innovate on behalf of tens of millions of customers around the world. This position requires the ability to work quickly, while delivering high-quality outputs in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of UX processes, razor-sharp project management skills, and is adept at navigating a complex, multi-org technical environment, while focusing on advocating for the customer at all times.

Key job responsibilities

  • Optimize the day to day operations of the UX team by creating and scaling mechanisms and removing obstacles, coordinating reviews with stakeholders and leadership, and communicating team status.

  • Manage internal mechanisms for the UX team including Town Halls, Showcases, and Extended Leadership meetings.

  • Implement repeatable processes and tools to help the team plan, prioritize, and drive multiple high-priority parallel projects.

  • Facilitate team operations of the team including: strategic planning, up-leveling team member training and knowledge share, workflow and processes, and collaboration approaches.

  • Standardize, socialize, and continuously improve our user-centered design process.

  • Enable creative solutions by leveraging design acumen, high judgement, and knowledge of business and customer experience best practices.

  • Promote a sense of transparency, visibility, and community among our team.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+years in UX Design Project/Program Management and/or Design Ops experience in design organizations.

  • Demonstrable history of influencing cross-functional stakeholders, partners, and senior executives.

  • Experience operationalizing and maturing UX Design organizations within a complex and ambiguous corporate environment.

  • Expertise in product UX design and development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of common design tools such as Figma, Asana etc.

  • Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies (agile to waterfall)

  • Experience working and contributing to project playbooks, building schedules, managing issues/risks, establishing communication plans and stakeholder management

  • Strong written and presentation skills.

  • Previous experience building programs that are sustainable and scalabale

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $74,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $159,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
