Robert Half Controller in Austin, Texas

Description We are seeking a Controller to join our team in Austin, Texas. This role will be integral to our financial management operations, including overseeing day-to-day accounting activities, budgeting, and forecasting. The Controller will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with financial regulations, strategic planning, and team leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and payroll

• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes

• Prepare financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders

• Develop and oversee budgeting processes and procedures

• Monitor and analyze budget performance against actual results

• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations

• Coordinate and oversee external audits

• Collaborate with executive management to develop financial strategies and business plans

• Provide financial analysis and guidance for key decisions, investments, and growth initiatives

• Evaluate financial risks and opportunities and recommend appropriate actions

• Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Controller role or similar position

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services

• Knowledge of DCAA regulations and practices

• Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning

• Proficiency in ERP Solutions

• Strong understanding of Accounting Functions

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Knowledge and experience in Auditing

• Familiarity with Budget Processes

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion

• Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred.
