Performs highly advanced server systems work in operational support of TxDOT District/Division information technology systems. Oversees work involving analyzing user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing systems. Oversees technical support and advice involving the development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of projects/programs and/or systems. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.Essential Duties:Coordinates the development, implementation and maintenance of IT server architecture, processes, policies, standards, procedures and associated roles and responsibilities.Manages one or more projects and systems involving server development and life cycle.Serves as a lead worker or project leader.Serves as Windows Server subject matter expert.Analyzes new or existing procedures, information systems, or programs for efficiency and effectiveness.Monitors and collects information to determine the strength, weaknesses and performance issues of existing technology.Designs, builds, tests, implements, and maintains both publish and ad hoc reports in response to customer change requests.Coordinates, plans, and schedules the installation or training for new or revised systems and defines business process requirements.Oversees and/or prepares and defines the goals of the system and devises flow charts and diagrams describing logical operational steps of programs.Coordinates requests or completes user security changes or additions and facilitates security authorizations for new users.Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
