Program Management:Handle administrative tasks associated with registration, student records, and advising programs/events. Conduct Steve Hicks School of Social Work orientations in coordination with university new student services for first-year college students and external transfer students and families. Facilitate information sessions and advising for internal transfer students. Assemble new student folders and archive folders of graduating students.Student Recruitment and Communication: Assist with the operation of internal and external recruitment efforts with efficiency: receive prospective students (internal/external transfer and visiting first-year students) for pre-advising, hold internal transfer and admissions information sessions, and field general questions regarding social work minors. Maintain a proactive online presence for student communication through the advising website and Canvas page. Produce weekly electronic information newsletter. Update advising resource information.Social Work Education Enhancement Program (SWEEP):Support the implementation of the Social Work Education Enhancement Program (SWEEP) activities including mentor recruitment and training, seminar facilitation, and related events.Advising:Advise students about the development of educational plan options and the resources available. Work closely with other academic advisors in order to provide timely information on course/degree options and university policies. Make appropriate referrals. Handle administrative tasks associated with student registration and student records-- run degree audits, provide and monitor prerequisite waivers, and assist with registration efforts for non-majors and minors.Additional Duties:Assist with related projects and other tasks as assigned.
