Financial ManagementOversee account structure including unit codes, subunit codes, and accounts ensuring accounts are requested and inactivated in a timely manner. Monitor account balances and process funding transfers.Coordinate the annual budget process including preparation of budget workbooks and budget update documents. Prepare/monitor instructional and fellowship budgets.Prepare models, forecasts, and financial projections. Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports such as budget to actual and outlook reports including reserves, risks, and opportunities.Conduct required monthly reconciliations. Process corrections as needed. Assist management in analyzing and resolving financial issues. Draft annual subcertifications.Track financial and non-financial commitments.Support efforts to ensure sound financial planning, budgeting, and account management processes are in place for all units and in compliance with UT processes and procedures. Assist with management and monitoring of internal controls.Research Administration Ensure high quality, responsive research administration services to faculty and ensure adherence to service level expectations. Implement best business practices, streamlining where possible. Collaborate with the BAS Manager as needed on post-award business processes.Supervise school-level research administration staff. Collaborate with center staff to ensure consistent practices and training.Monitor compliance with relevant policies and procedures.For designated projects: Assist PIs with research proposal preparation and submission and award set up. Liaise with UT OSP, external agencies, and sub-awardees as needed. Manage post-award activities such as expense monitoring, effort certification, MOU/DUA/NDA compliance, budget adjustments, etc.ReportingCoordinate the development and distribution of reports for financial and non-financial data. Collaborate with university offices on the development of reports to meet school need. Develop reports in Tableau, Excel, or other BI tools to meet school needs. Provide insightful analysis of trends.Prepare responses for recurring and ad hoc surveys using a variety of university data.Develop systems and processes to track information and ensure a high degree of data integrity.Business OperationsProvide high quality, expert support to a range of business operations and projects across the CBO portfolio and school as assigned. Complete projects, processes, and tasks in the assigned areas.Assist in resolving issues that serve as barriers to business functions operating at maximum efficiency and effectiveness by conducting research, assessing, providing advice related to, and if appropriate, recommend solutions or resolving.Support a culture of continuous improvement, effective training, and organizational excellence.Serve as back up to other staff including CBO as assigned.
