Meta Accounting Manager, Global Corporate Accounting in Austin, Texas

Summary:

Meta is seeking a full-time Accounting Manager to join the Global Corporate Accounting team. In this specific role, you will be responsible for performing accounting transactions and processes to support daily operations and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal policies. You will play a critical role in Meta’s month-end financial close process and will be responsible for devising strategic plans to optimize our accounting processes to support scale as Meta’s business continues to grow and effectively oversee an off-shore team. The focused responsibilities of this candidate include overseeing and managing ongoing operational integrations, accounting assessments and reviews, and SEC reporting disclosures related to day +2 merger and acquisition (“M&A”) activity, strategic investments, variable interest entities (“VIEs”) and consolidated entities. The individual will also work closely with our Technical Accounting team to conclude on accounting treatment within this space.

Required Skills:

Accounting Manager, Global Corporate Accounting Responsibilities:

  1. Work within a Corporate Accounting global process function, with responsibility for key financial reporting areas (P&L and BS)

  2. Ensure an accurate and timely US GAAP month end close by providing management and support to the accounting close process. This role includes serving as a hands-on team member responsible for performing and reviewing accounting transactions including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis

  3. Help define and implement scalable accounting processes related to month-end and quarter-end close

  4. Partner with our global team to optimize worldwide processes, systems & controls

  5. Coach and develop the offshore team and ensure they perform according to expectations or the established desk-top procedures

  6. Assist with the implementation of new accounting policy, including related new controls

  7. Contribute to the quarterly SEC reporting cycle

  8. Ensure compliance with key controls and audit requirements, and provide accounting support to our statutory compliance teams

  9. Lead projects to identify, design, test and roll-out new financial reporting systems and tools

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BA/BS degree required in Accounting, Finance or equivalent

  2. 6+ years relevant experience in the accounting profession

  3. Knowledge of US GAAP and internal control best practices

  4. Skilled in comprehending end-to-end systems that impact accounting processes, with experience in effectively scaling financial operations

  5. Experience with financial statements and general ledger entries or review

  6. Proven working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft tools

  7. Experience working independently as a significant individual contributor with minimal guidance

  1. Big 4 audit experience and CPA

  2. Excellent planning, analytical, and presentation skills

  3. Organized and thorough with desire for continuous improvement

  4. Superb attention to detail yet possesses an understanding of the "big picture” and the importance of risk mitigation and a strong controls environment

  5. Team player and leader who is very comfortable working as part of a larger team distributed across multiple geographic locations

  6. Experience identifying problematic areas and determine root cause

  7. Experience with Oracle Financials, SAP or ERP system

  8. Experience streamlining processes

  9. Business partnering experience

  10. Experience with large, fast-growing, multinational company

Public Compensation:

$113,000/year to $165,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
