Description
A Truck Shop Mechanic will maintain and repair trucks, trailers, and small equipment including, but not limited to:
Large and small diesel/gas engines, electrical/brake/cooling/drive systems, a/c systems, fueling systems, and hydraulic systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General and preventative maintenance of Ford, Dodge, and Freightliner trucks.
Electronic diagnoses on Ford, Dodge, and Freightliner trucks.
Electrical installation (communication radios, GPS tracking systems, etc.)
Small engine and equipment repair.
General and preventative maintenance on trailers.
Position large trucks and trailers, up to double tanker, to needed locations. Some overnight required.
Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers.
Operate and maintain fuel pumping systems.
Repair and maintain vehicle a/c systems
Communicate with shops and field by phone and email
Conduct oneself in accordance with Company’s Core Values
Maintains work areas and tools in a clean and organized manner.
Performs work safely and utilizes the appropriate technical data for the assigned task.
Monitors and supports continuous improvement activities by utilizing Lean and continuous improvement tools striving to identify and eliminate waste in all its forms in an effort to improve quality and safety, decrease lead time and reduce cost.
Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum 5 years light vehicle experience,
Ability to diagnose and repair:
Hydraulic systems
Diesel and gas systems
Electrical systems
A/C systems
Have or be able to obtain a CDL with Tank/Hazmat.
Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
