Job Title: Software Engineer

Job Description

Avionic products are installed in a wide variety of civil and military aircraft. These products provide communication, navigation, and guidance information to the pilot. The software engineering team is responsible for producing the avionics software embedded within these products as well as the production test environments for the products.

Members of the software engineering team are responsible for all phases of embedded software development including:

  • Lifecycle of a software product

    -Starting with planning documents

    -Gathering software requirements

    -Coding in C

    -Integrating with systems and hardware

    -Extensive documentation due to industry standards

Other duties:

  • Writing software development plans

  • Documenting software requirements

  • Creating a software design

  • Writing software code

  • Writing software test cases and procedures

Hard Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

  • Proficiency with the C programming language

  • Experience with embedded software development

  • Experience with embedded systems or RTOS in a regulated industry

  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment (Aerospace, Automotive, Telecom, Medical)

  • Knowledge of full software lifecycle development
