Position and Responsibilities Overview Prepares estimates with the proper level of detail for all designstages: Conceptual, Schematic Design, Design Development and ConstructionDocuments. Assists with maintaining the estimating cost data base to ensure costs are up todate. As a senior estimator, manages the estimating team in the assembly and submission ofbids. Supervises and trains estimators and engineering personnel assigned to assist them in the preparation of estimates andbids. Consults with customers, architects, subcontractors, and material suppliers to discuss and formulate estimates, effect cost reductions, and resolveissues. Studies specifications to assist the operations team in planning procedures for manufacturing on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements. Researches drawings and documents and analyzes specifications to determine estimated costs. Works with the operations team throughout the preconstruction process in reviewing plans and specifications for manufacturability issues and determining general requirements on the project. Creates, maintains, and manages the preconstruction / design schedule forproducts and programs. Has the ability to manage and track multiple preconstruction products, programs or projects atonce. Manage the subcontractor prequalification process and assure that awarded subcontractors have the proper experience and financial capabilities to perform on the project. Reviews design documents for proper information to receive accurate pricing from subcontractorsandsuppliers,generatesacceptablevalueengineeringideas,andprep ares life-cyclecosting. Prepares quantity take-offs and estimates costs of materials, labor, and use of equipment required to fulfill all provisions of thecontract. Works with the Engineering Department to utilize Revit or other programsin generating quantities as may be available from designmodels. Assures that self-performed estimates comply with the requirements of theoverall construction contract with theOwner. Understands how to create proper bid packages and works with the design team on the information required in each package to assure complete bids and giving the manufacturing team the right information needed to start production or maintain the projectschedule. Assuresthatthe estimating teamactswithintegrityandemploysethicalbehaviorduringall stages of the estimating process Supervisesand/orwritesthespecificandgeneralinstructionstobiddersandrequiredbi d forms. Reviews subcontractor and supplier bids for conformity to contract requirementsand determines acceptablebids. Presents and explains project budgets to customers, designers, and operationsteams. Administers buy-out process and hand off to the OperationsTeam. Works with the Chief Estimator in the creation of all final estimates to be given to the operations and accounting team for creation of the projectbudgets. Familiarity / Proficiency with the following software or internet-basedprograms: MC2 Bluebeam OST MSExcel MS Word MS Project (Scheduling) Navisworks Revit SketchUp iSQFT Track productivity on past projects and follow up on past awards. Identify value engineering opportunities. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications B.S.degreeinEngineering,ConstructionManagementorequivalent fieldexperience. Minimum of ten (10) years construction experience with a minimum of five (5) years of estimatingexperience.
