Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Assistant Professor

  • A medical degree from an accredited institution.

  • Board certification in Internal Medicine

  • Board certified in Gastroenterology

  • 1 year of interventional endoscopy fellowship/advanced training in pancreatology

  • Must have, or be eligible to obtain, an active State of Colorado medical license

  • Must have an active DEA license on or before hire date

  • Must have a record of scholarship, teaching, and service sufficient to be appointed as an assistant professor or higher at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus

Associate Professor

  • A medical degree from an accredited institution.

  • Board certification in Internal Medicine

  • Board certified in Gastroenterology

  • 2-5 year of interventional endoscopy fellowship/advanced training in pancreatology

  • Must have, or be eligible to obtain, an active State of Colorado medical license

  • Must have an active DEA license on or before hire date

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-5 year(s) of post fellowship experience

  • Experience working in an academic medical center

  • Experience with teaching fellows

The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology has faculty and staff making contributions to research, clinical trials, and nationally recognized patient care. The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is rapidly growing, with clinical practices throughout the state of Colorado and over 80 researchers, physicians and staff, all working toward its vision to prevent and treat disease while being a global model for patient care delivery, interdisciplinary research, and training. The ideal candidate will join a well-established five-member interventional endoscopy section with a national and international reputation for clinical care, research and training. The candidate will have clinical, academic, administrative and research skills that will augment the sections' current clinical abilities and academic portfolio. The candidate will also have a proven record of clinical and academic excellence and the potential to pursue leadership opportunities in the section and division. As an important member of the clinical team, the Therapeutic Endoscopist will have both inpatient and outpatient clinical responsibilities, including consultations and endoscopic procedures, inpatient attending, and teaching duties. The Therapeutic Endoscopist will perform clinical duties at UCH and affiliated hospitals at least 3.5 full days per week for procedures and 0.5 days per week for outpatient clinic. Additional protected time for research and/or a leadership position is available based on candidate experience and research funding. The provider communicates appropriately and effectively with study subjects, investigators, and other team members, and has outstanding customer service skills and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. o ERCP with established experience in altered anatomy and post liver transplant procedures, and intraductal endoscopy. o Diagnostic and therapeutic EUS. o Complex EMR o Deep enteroscopy o Advanced techniques for enteral access and nutritional support o Teaching GI fellows and advanced therapeutic endoscopy fellows. o Presenting at GI grand rounds and other conferences. o Participating in CME events organized by the Division. o Mentoring of fellows and faculty.
