Database Administrator - EPIC Cache/Iris

Summary:

This is a full-time, exempt/salary position on UCHealth's Database Administration team to support Caché/Iris database. You may be based in Fort Collins, Colorado Springs or the Metro Denver area and full time work-from-home is possible. This position requires an experienced administrator to maintain various EPIC database environments for a growing company that serves 25,000+ users. This candidate must have the ability to work well with various business leaders/customers.

A range of experiences will be considered for this position including Mid-Level DBA and Senior DBA.

Key Factors:

• Strong technical problem solver who can resolve issues within EPIC (Caché/Iris) database

• Ability to balance work across a diverse set of customers, projects, goals and priorities

• Ability to discuss requirements directly with customers and deliver satisfactory solutions as well as support various technical issues/tickets.

• Ability to independently manage projects, communicate with leadership and resolve issues.

• Ability to form strong customer and team relationships while working in a remote setting

• Work well in a team environment

Responsibilities:

• Subject Matter Expert for Caché/Iris

o Install, Configure and Maintain database environments

o Set up and configure Epic monitoring tools (Redalert, System Pulse), manage alerts and logs, set up, configure and manage administrative tools

o Monitoring of service health, management of service requests, change management

o Proactively find issues within the environment and help put processes in place to prevent problems.

• Perform routine upgrades and updates

• Test, perform and maintain business continuity procedures (Disaster recovery, backup restores)

• Configure and perform environment refreshes

• Evaluate performance metrics and troubleshoot performance issues

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED

• 3 years of relevant experience (including 1 year of Cache/Iris management experience)

Preferred:

• Basic understanding of Linux operating systems, shell scripts

• Bachelor's degree

• EPIC (Cache/IRIS) certification

• Basic understanding of Linux operating systems, shell scripts

• Experience working with multiple project teams (business, IT application and infrastructure teams).
