Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for direct patient care case load (dependent on research FTE) including diagnostic, assessment, treatment, and discharge planning for persons who have experienced trauma.

  • Collaborates with other disciplines or departments on patient care and safety.

  • Leads, monitors, evaluates, and collaborates educational and therapeutic groups for patients; participates in clinical rounds and maintains communication with unit or department leadership.

  • Attends educational in-services for Behavioral Health Clinicians.

  • Identifies sources of funding to support FTE and develops research proposals for submission.

  • Serves as a PI/Co-PI on projects that accomplish objectives in line with START mission/vision/and values.

  • Serve as research methodologist for research/funding proposals with START (may be out of substantive area)

  • i.e., collaborate with research team, industry stakeholders and government agencies to further START mission/vision and advancement of trauma research.

  • Engages in program evaluation and measurement development (e.g., intake screening) activities as appropriate and requested by executive leadership

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

  • PhD in psychology or social work, PsyD, MD, DO

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of trauma and traumatic stress across the lifespan.

  • Training in clinical trauma-focused treatment of children, adolescents, and/or adults.

  • Highly proficient in SPSS, STATA, SAS, or comparable statistical software.

  • REDCap project design and management.

  • Experience running research protocols with human participants.

  • Thorough understanding of core health science concepts.

  • Outstanding empirical writing skills.

  • Experience mentoring junior staff and supervising clinical students.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with faculty, staff, students, alumni, industry and the public.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

  • Knowledge regarding clinical research regulations and principles of ethical conduct.

  • A demonstrated ability to organize and complete complex projects and to work under tight deadlines.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently. Ability to work collaboratively with study staff, principal investigators, and other laboratories.
