Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
Care for patients with variety of cancer types with an emphasis on palliative care.
New inpatient and outpatient consultations in collaboration with the attending physician.
Return patient visits for disease surveillance, survivorship and post radiation evaluation.
Care coordination, including imaging studies and aspects of radiation planning.
Management of inpatients with acute issues.
Patient education about the process of radiation care and side effects.
Management of side effects related to treatment.
Assessment of nutritional, psychosocial and palliative needs.
Assisting with patient care if enrolled in clinical trials.
Participation in regularly scheduled peer review conferences and possibly multi-disciplinary clinics.
Potential participation in procedures after relevant training.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Physician Assistant (NCCPA) or Nurse Practitioner (AANP/AANC) Certification.
Ability to obtain Colorado practice license.
Ability to obtain prescriptive authority (DEA License).
Preferred Qualifications:
2-5 years of experience in the clinical management of radiation oncology patients.
Experience assessing patients and developing care plans.
Experience teaching both professional and lay persons formally and informally.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with multiple medical disciplines, patients and families.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with referring physicians, hospital support service personnel, patients, and their families.
Excellent bedside manner and physical exam skills

The starting salary range () for this position has been established as $98,000 to $125,000 The above salary range () represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
