21 TEMPORARY/SEASONAL FARM WORKERS on Hampshire County farm dates needed are 05/1/2024 to 12/20/2024 Will work 55.5 hours per week. Pay rate 15.14/hour. Workers will pick Peaches - 5 bushels per/hr; Apples - 6 bushels per/hr; Greenbeans - 1 bushel per/hr; Peas - 1 bushel per/hr. Raises and/or bonuses may be offered to any seasonal worker employed pursuant to this job order, at the company's sole discretion, based on individual factors including work performance, skill, and tenure. Will manually plant, cultivate transplant and harvest vegetables, including, but not limited to, tomatoes, beans, corn, cucumbers, onions, lettuce, asparagus, and fruits, including, but not limited to, strawberries, cherries, peaches, apples. This job requires a minimum of three months of prior cultivation/harvest experience in commercial field crop production of fruits or vegetables. Workers will perform packing in the field and in packing house. Work may also include harvesting greenhouse tomatoes and assist with irrigation and general farm building maintenance. Workers will assist in loading trucks with packaged product weighing up to and including 60 pounds and lifting to a height of 5 feet for long periods of time. Workers should be able to work on their feet in bent positions for long periods of time. Work requires repetitive movements and extensive walking. Considerable stooping and kneeling is required. May be required to operate mowers, plows, sprayers, cultivators, power shears, chain saws, high lifts, fork lifts, skid loaders. Workers may be required to perform variable tasks such as the following: irrigation, ditching, shoveling, hoeing, hauling, ground preparation, weeding and other tasks related to general farming. NOTE: Employer has a strict prohibition on tobacco usage to preserve crop integrity. No smoking or tobacco use of any kind will be permitted in the fields. Smoking allowed only in designated areas during 45-minute lunch break. Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, peach fuzz, insect spray, related chemicals, etc. may affect workers ability to perform the job. Housing provided only to non-local workers (i.e. permanent residence outside normal commuting distance). Only workers may occupy housing. Employer provides separate sleeping and bathroom facilities for each gender. Employer possesses and controls premises at all times. Workers must vacate housing promptly at end of contract period or upon termination, in accordance with state law. Employer does not provide meals. Employer-provided housing includes free and convenient kitchen facilities with appropriate equipment, appliances, cooking accessories, and dishwashing facilities for meal preparation. For workers residing in employer-provided housing, employer also provides free transportation once per week to/from closest town or city for personal errands (e.g., groceries, banking services). Dining, kitchen/cooking facilities and other common areas are shared by all workers. In the event that kitchen facilities become unavailable during the contract period, employer will provide three daily meals in accordance with 20 CFR 655.122(g). In such circumstances, employer will deduct the cost of such meals up to the maximum allowable amount published in the Federal Register, or as otherwise approved by the U.S. Department of Labor. If the kitchen is unavailable, the employer will charge the worker $15.88/per day. For workers residing in employer-provided housing, employer provides, at no cost to workers, daily transportation to and from the worksite. Use of employer-provided transportation is voluntary. Daily transportation to/from the worksite is not available to workers who do not reside in employer-provided housing. Local workers and workers who decline employer-provided housing are responsible for own daily transportation. Employer provides, at no cost, incidental transportation between worksites. Employer pays/reimburses foreign workers for all visa-related costs (excluding passport fees) in the first workweek. For non-commuting workers, employer pays/reimburses reasonable travel costs (transportation, daily subsistence, and lodging if applicable) from the place worker departed to the employer’s place of employment. The meal reimbursement is between $14.00 and $59.00 per day.
