OVERVIEW:

You will be supporting dynamic public health systems supporting the Maine Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This work involves key systems that support the numerous state agencies as well as far beyond state government.

ABOUT THE AGENCY:

The Department of Administrative and Financial Services (DAFS) Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides information technology support to over 13,000 employees. OIT oversees large scale enterprise applications that support the critical and diverse business needs of the State of Maine and its agencies. OIT is seeking a highly talented individual who can lead technical teams, who maintain and support a variety of applications for clients.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

This is technical services work involving the development, enhancement, and maintenance of a variety of complex systems. You will design, develop, test, and maintain application code. You will frequently partner with technical staff and end-users to test and refine your work.

We strive to provide excellent customer service to our clients through application development and support. A highlight of responsibilities includes designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and maintaining complex applications.

The most important aspects of the job are the translation of logical designs into effective technical solutions, and the analysis and resolution of highly complex programming problems.

This position is based in Augusta, with the opportunity to telework as much as 90% of the time based on management approval.

  • Microsoft Stack:

  • MS-SQL Server

  • MS-Reporting Services

  • SQL Server Integration Services

  • C#

  • Visual Studio

  • Agile/Kanban SDLC

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelors Degree in Computer Sciences or an equivalent industry certification -OR-

  • an Associates Degree in Computer Information Science with 1 year application development experience -OR-

  • 2 years application development experience.

    Preference is 3 years of application system development experience in combination with a relevant degree or certifications.

The selected candidate will be required to successfully pass a background check as a condition of employment.
