MaineGeneral Health Applications Analyst in Augusta, Maine

Job Description:

The Application Analyst will be responsible for complex analysis, troubleshooting, and the maintenance of critical healthcare IT applications. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to design, develop, and implement solutions that optimize workflows and enhance the overall user experience. Your work will play an essential role in advancing MaineGeneral’s commitment to providing high-quality care through cutting-edge technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complex Problem Solving: Perform advanced troubleshooting, analysis, and maintenance of IT applications to ensure optimal performance and functionality.

  • Innovative Design: Lead the planning, design, and development of application solutions, tailored to meet end-user needs and improve workflows across the healthcare system.

  • Proactive Solutions: Identify and anticipate issues before they arise and offer strategic, forward-thinking solutions to enhance system performance and reliability.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage directly with clinicians, administrators, and other stakeholders to understand challenges and develop practical, effective IT solutions that support patient care.

  • Vendor & Project Management: Serve as a liaison between vendors, consultants, and project managers to ensure projects are executed to meet quality standards, timelines, and organizational objectives.

  • Continuous Improvement: Provide ongoing support during system upgrades, patch management, and daily operations while ensuring minimal disruption to users and patient care.

  • Documentation & Training: Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, workflows, and troubleshooting guidelines while providing training to end users for optimal application use.

  • Data Integrity & Security: Uphold the highest standards of data integrity and security by performing regular audits and proactive system maintenance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in application support, system administration, or IT-related roles.

  • Preferred: A combined 10 years of experience in IT, healthcare, SQL, application troubleshooting, integrations, and interfacing.

  • Strong proficiency in SQL, including query creation, troubleshooting, and report generation.

  • Experience with healthcare IT applications (e.g., EMR/EHR systems) and HL7 interfacing standards is highly desirable.

  • Proven ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues while offering creative, proactive solutions.

  • Excellent communication skills, with a talent for working across teams and directly with stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.

  • Experience collaborating with vendors and managing projects to deliver high-quality results on time.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic healthcare environment.
