Job Summary and Qualifications

The Manager Burn Med Surg assists the Director with the operations of the department. This person ensures that patient care is provided according to policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services. The Manager is responsible for staffing a sufficient number of qualified and competent persons to provide care and assures the qualifications and competence of those staff members meet the needs of patient care services. The Manager also oversees orientation, in-service training, and continuing education of all persons in their department. Other duties include being responsible for interviewing and selection, retention, disciplinary actions and terminations of department employees in conjunction with the Director and Human Resources. This person also provides input to the Director regarding space/equipment recommendations, budgetary needs, and other resources needed by the department. The Manager maintains 24 hour accountability for the direction, supervision, coordination, and evaluation of activities and services of the unit.

What qualifications you will need:

• Education: graduated from an accredited school of professional nursing, BSN required or must be enrolled in program and complete within 2 years

• Licensure/Certifications: Must hold a current GA license or eNLC license required ; current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA or Red Cross)

• Experience: 3+ years of acute care nursing leadership experience preferred
