Position Description

The Manager, Financial Counseling is responsible for the daily operation, supervision and coordination of activities in Financial Counseling for assigned staff. This role continually evaluates workflows and systems for optimal performance and patient centric improvement while effectively communicating with clinic and department management. Guides and mentors new/existing staff with daily work and proper handling of accounts. This role ensures the high quality and excellent service of Financial Counselors in patient contact and contact with outside third-party payers and insurers.

Position Requirements

Associates degree and 4 years or more of experience in financial counseling, Medicaid case work, or working with patient eligibility and sponsorship. Additional years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of minimum education requirement.

Preferred Requirements

Bachelors degree. HFMA, NAHAM, or equivalent certification preferred.
