The Coca-Cola Company Maintenance Coordinator in Auburndale, Florida

The primary role of the Maintenance Coordinator is to provide a single point of contact for all maintenance support issues on their assigned shift. The coordinator communicates the preventative maintenance work schedule to their assigned maintenance crew and the status of the work schedule from planning. The coordinator adjusts work focus to improve machine performance by using the downtime data from the Production Supervisor Group.

The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for the execution of the maintenance work schedule and acts as a liaison and provides coordination between the production and maintenance organizations. The coordinator is also responsible for monitoring the PM day activities so that assigned work is completed inside the scheduled PM window.

What You'll Do for Us:

  • Execute the maintenance work schedule, ensuring completion within allotted time, and managing downtime periods like CIP and sanitation.

  • Proficiently utilize SAP PM, the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

  • Print work orders, assign tasks to craftspersons, and monitor progress, providing support as needed.

  • Keep supervisors informed of any issues impacting operational capability.

  • Consult supervisors for work prioritization when needed.

  • Maintain and enforce high standards in all activities.

  • Investigate equipment issues with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), contractors, and vendor technical support.

  • Determine job scope and best execution methods, consulting with relevant personnel.

  • Source necessary blueprints, drawings, and manuals, and create additional sketches if needed.

  • Ensure availability of materials to support the work order schedule.

  • Prioritize safety in operations, ensuring adherence to standards like Arc Flash/Shock Hazard, confined space entry, LOTO, and safe tool use.

  • Update CMMS regularly to maintain accurate plant asset records and assist in training craftspersons.

  • Identify and address skill gaps through training.

  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of departmental processes and packaging systems.

  • Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and maintain a safe and orderly shop environment.

  • Adhere to and enforce plant policies, reporting violations as needed.

  • Ensure the integrity and quality of the product at all times.

  • Attend meetings and support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Recommend equipment for preventive maintenance programs.

  • Collect and improve procedures, durations, and frequencies for PM tasks.

  • Suggest process improvements in maintenance, including planning, scheduling, and CMMS.

  • Promote energy conservation.

  • Assist in analyzing maintenance costs and recommend corrective actions.

  • Keep supervisors informed of critical situations and seek advice as necessary.

  • Suggest system improvements.

  • Perform additional tasks and special assignments as requested.

  • Recommend additions to storeroom stock.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma

  • Experience: 2-5 years of successful experience in a manufacturing environment. Mechanical/electrical background recommended and/or tech school background desired.

  • Reliability Experience: Previous experience with SAP preferred.

  • Skills:

  • Craft Knowledge: Ability to estimate labor hours and materials accurately and visualize job performance.

  • Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the tact needed for effective interaction.

  • Administrative Skills: Strong administrative and mathematical abilities, including a willingness to handle paperwork.

  • Problem-Solving: Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to work efficiently under stressful conditions.

  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in computer use and software programs such as Microsoft Office, OneNote, SAP, and Infinity Quality System. Typing skills and an ability to acquire PC knowledge quickly are advantageous.

  • Planning and Organization: Excellent planning and organizational skills.

  • Instruction Comprehension: Ability to understand and provide clear instructions.

  • Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and understand blueprints and shop drawings.

  • Sketching: Basic sketching ability.

  • Work Order Management: Understanding of proper work order use, prioritization, and scheduling.

  • Multitasking: Competence in managing multiple jobs simultaneously and bringing order to chaotic situations.

  • Customer Service: Dedicated orientation and commitment to customer service.

  • Respect and Leadership: Style and capability to command respect within both maintenance and operating organizations.
