Freudenberg Battery Power Systems, LLC seeks Sr. Mechanical Engineer in Auburn Hills, MI:

Position Description: Work seamlessly with the mechanical engineering and CAD teams to evolve new products in an efficient manner delivering best in class product quality, efficiency, and optimized design solutions. Design and develop assemblies, subsystems, and components. Develop technical work products, coordination of FEA studies, supplier capabilities, DFMEA, GD&T, Stack-up analysis, DVP&R, DFM/DFA, and PPAP deliverables. Manage and release a structured bill of materials including PFEP during early stages of product development with evolution into XALT's production MRP system (SAP). Work closely with the program management office, supply chain, purchasing, quality, strategic suppliers, and manufacturing engineering to ensure successful high-volume production. Prepare benchmark evaluations when developing new projects and concepts. Serve as project manager for mid to small internal projects when a dedicated Program Manager is not assigned. Telecommuting is an option. Some travel to Freudenberg Battery Power Systems offices is required. 

Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Automotive, Computer Design, Mechanical Engineering, or closely related quantitative discipline, plus two (2) years of experience in job offered or in any occupation in a related field. 

Special Skills: 1) Design Reviews, 2) Creo CAD Software, 3) Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), 4) PV/ DV testing, 5) SAP, 6) VA/VE activities, 7) Design and drawing release, 8) Plastic injection molded components, 9) DFMEA 10) DFM/ DFA. Telecommuting is an option. Some travel to Freudenberg Battery Power Systems offices is required. Any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience is acceptable.
