The Robotics Material Planner / Production Buyer handles end-to-end planning of inventory in excess of invoicing, from purchase requisition to customer invoice, assisting internal customer service inquiries. In this role, you will employ Supply Chain Management (SCM) knowledge and personal commitment to procure material and services to support production operations for the Auburn Hills Robot Supply Unit (SU), focusing on ensuring uninterrupted supply of materials so that the business has material on hand when required to fill production orders on time to customer requirements. Ensure purchases are in line with ABB Company and SCM instructions and procedures and in alignment with SU Global Commodity Strategies. Daily evaluate MRP purchase signals to determine orders to place: Compare buy signals by looking at forecasted demand-raising questions to planning function when discrepancies appear. Within guidelines, make independent judgements on volume of material to buy after evaluating firm and forecasted demand, minimum order quantities (MOQs), lead time, supplier capacity, historic supplier performance, on-hand inventory, etc. Issue and manage purchase orders for assigned items and suppliers: Use SAP to issue POs (Purchase Order) from MRP (Material Requirements Planning) signals. Track and enter supplier order confirmations in SAP Proactively, follow up with supplies during order execution to ensure supplier on time delivery. Communicate supplier late deliveries to organization. Take order expediting actions as required to ensure material is available for production requirements. Daily manage "Red Lights" from SAP MRP Resolve supplier invoices issues-working with ABB's read soft system to keep unresolved issues to a minimum Drive down overall cost of material for the AH SU, e.g., material prices, freight costs, packaging, storage costs, etc., to achieve annual SCM KPI (Key Performance Indicators) targets. Continually work to minimize expedited freight cost Source to suppliers and distribute percentage of supply among suppliers based on direction from Local Commodity Manager As assigned, publish local AH SU procurement KPIs, example, supplier OTD (on time delivery). Redlights, freight Actively participate in process improvement initiatives-making recommendations and taking actions to implement improvement decisions. Act as backup person for SCM responsibilities, example, master planning and offsite logistics operationYour background

Bachelor of Arts/ Bachelor of Science degree required with SCM experience: 3 to 5 years, with focus on procurement and material planning Experience with ERP Systems, SAP preferred Knowledge of transportation & inventory practices SCM certification preferred, e.g., CPSM, CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management), CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional ) Ability to read and understand engineering drawings preferred Fluent English speaking and writing required, foreign language ability a plus (Mandarin) Ability to analyze data for decision making Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the USBenefits Retirement plan Life insurance Disab
