Job purpose

Ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of internal control processes within the organization by developing, implementing, and monitoring internal control systems and accounting policies.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide periodic training on control related topics to a variety of stakeholders within the Company, including newly acquired businesses.

  • Review the company’s process narratives and provide recommendations on potential opportunity for process improvement and standardization. Collaborate with the Business Unit internal controls coordinators to gain understanding of internal controls issues affecting the business and assist in their process improvement and standardization.

  • Review, update and be the coordinator for the company’s accounting policies and assist local accounting teams with the implementation of the changes.

  • Periodically review and update the company’s internal controls over financial reporting framework and facilitate annual discussions with Finance leadership.

  • Identify pervasive control issues across the company and support implementation of remediation actions for issues identified.

  • Provide periodic updates on control implementation and remediation to Audit and Finance leadership.

  • Monitor changing regulatory requirements to develop and implement additional control frameworks as needed (i.e. ESG).

  • Review and approve control deviation requests submitted by local accounting teams.

What we’re looking for

  • Experienced individual with 10+ years of experience, who is keen to learn and grow in the WHQ Internal Control organization, interacting with Corporate Functional Vice Presidents and Executives.

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or finance is required; CPA Certification preferred

  • Preferred candidate for this position would be a detail-oriented audit or finance professional with expertise in internal control over financial reporting and accounting operation

  • With attention to detail, ability to document, collaborative attitude with corporate functions, and comfortable interacting at all levels of the corporation.

  • Should possess strong intrinsic motivation and feel comfortable dedicating time to independently solve problems and propose solutions with stakeholders.

  • Must have experience with PowerPoint, Word, and thorough knowledge of Excel.

  • Good at focused listening, finding common ground and gaining cooperation.

  • Project assignments and partner with consultants

  • Good command of SAP and OneStream

  • Excellent communications skills

  • Ability to function independently with minimal supervision
