About the Role:

The Quality Assurance Manager Senior focus responsibility is to build strategy, empower teams with commitments and standards, building the capability of end-to-end Quality and food safety best-in-class approach, in order to achieve brilliant brand execution, engaging all collaborators and business partners about quality standards, deliverables and continuous improvement journey, while assuring compliance with regulatory requirements applicable and DIAGEO Global Standards (GRMS, GAR, CARM, etc.).

Decision Making:

Lead the plant Quality to drive functional excellence, consistent standards and systems, and employee led and owned quality programs to drive continued improvement in plant quality metrics.

Key relationships: Market Heads of Technical, Marketing Directors, Operations Managers, Heads of Procurement, Planning, Logistics, Strategy, Corporate Security, Business Integrity, Governance Quality Team, Third Party Operations, Suppliers Management Team, Consulting companies, among others.

Key Outputs/Deliverables:

Lead and manage the Quality Assurance and Improvement plant culture to:

Assure quality of product through receipt of incoming goods, in process product and finished product.

Build robust Quality Systems to ensure compliance with internal standards as well as ISO / FSSC, LTO and GRMS standards that drives continuous improvement in Quality performance.

Continually supervise important metrics by line to routinely understand all losses to drive improvement.

Embedding every employee of DIAGEO SC&P Tequila and Mezcal in company culture, empowering teams with the ambition, the very best processes / products and behaviors for exceeding the excellence we are committed to deliver.

Experience required/Skills/Capabilities/Languages:

  • At least 10 years direct manufacturing and quality experience in beverages, food, packaging or a related industry, +6 years leading large size quality manufacturing organization.

  • In-depth knowledge of quality management systems, packaging automatic lines and components, Quality and Food Safety Management, and supplier development, desirable within the beverage industry, spirits, wines and RTD production environment.

  • Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant physical science or engineering / MBA a plus.

  • Languages: English and Spanish – fluent, It’s a must.

  • Strong communication skills – both written and orally. Ability to present on various topics to executive committees when requested and discussing issues with plant personnel.

  • Experience in problem solving, broad based statistics, consumer data management, capacity process analysis / control and capability programs, risk assessment and change management.

  • Experience in working in a matrix organization and manufacturing excellence program.

  • Good at networking to establish excellent relationships at all levels, site contacts and Suppliers.

  • Strong experience with Global Risk Management Standards, Quality and Food Safety Management (HACCP, FSSC and ISO), Mexican and International regulation associated with food and beverages industries, ideally in FMCG companies.

  • Experience with customer-centric strategie's definition as well as legal demands support / answer.
