Position

Mid-Level Blast Test Engineer

  • Location: Atlantic City, NJ

  • Security Clearance: Active Clearance or Eligible to Obtain - U.S. citizenship required

  • Salary: $114,000 - $129,000 Depending on Experience and Education

  • Travel: 20%

    Position Summary

    SURVICE Engineering is currently seeking a Mid-Level Blast Test Engineer to support our Aberdeen Research Operation. You will accelerate your career and become an integral team member within the defense community.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs engineering design and analyses or highly complex security and security related systems to determine potential for further development, production, and interface to other systems, and usefulness in the homeland security environment.

  • Requires no supervision. Reviews and comments on test plans and procedures; conducts tests, collects test data, prepares test/program assessment reports.

  • Shall be capable of developing work breakdown structures, identification of critical path elements to project accomplishment, and tracking of project activities.

  • Has good communications skills, is able to write with no supervision project documents including project plans, test plans and procedures, data analysis reports, and project final reports.

  • Has experience in system automation, data collection, analysis, and presentation.

  • Proficient in the use of personal computers and has working knowledge of commercial software programs.

    Minimum Qualifications of Mid-Level Blast Test Engineer Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 9 +years of relevant experience or a Master's Degree in Engineering and 3+ years of relevant. Experience is that which demonstrates a professional knowledge of System, Electrical/Electronic engineering discipline. Professional knowledge is defined as the comprehensive, in-depth knowledge of systems engineering and advanced technology development. Shall have security, physical security, security sensor, or explosive detection systems or related engineering experience demonstrating the ability to work with complex issues related to design, development, and test and evaluation.   • Knowledge and experience in explosive testing including Commercial Aircraft Vulnerability and mitigation technology explosive testing, Blast Effects measurement testing and other types of related explosive and weapons tests.

  • Knowledge and experience in instrumentation and data acquisition for explosive and weapons testing.

  • Expertise in explosive performance measurement techniques and explosive test results instrumentation interpretation using blast pressure gauges, strain gauges, accelerometers, high speed cameras for high-speed video coverage (including digital image correlation techniques) and other applicable blast test measurement instrumentation techniques.

  • Knowledge of modeling and simulation on blast responses of aircraft structures.

  • Knowledge of live testing and deriving variables for explosive equation of state, such as Jones-Wilkins-Lee.
