Position Summary
A career in System Integrity will provide the opportunity to provide analytic services for the Distribution & Transmission Integrity Management Programs (DIMP/TIMP) in support of asset & infrastructure integrity, maintenance, operations, compliance, and risk management programs for SJI. This typically involves understanding the design, development, execution, and reporting of DIMP/TIMP and annual system review (ASR) programs along with related compliance and risk mitigation programs including damage prevention, leak trending, and cathodic protection. Additionally, this also involves examining quality detailed asset data and asset/operational/maintenance analysis including root cause analysis, analyzing asset data and continually improving data integrity and availability along with providing recommendations for improving operations.
Roles within System Integrity are responsible for a variety of engineering services functions that could include construction, systems engineering, design support, or similar engineering support activities. This includes ensuring the timely, thorough, and accurate completion of all engineering services projects. This also includes the preparation of new or modified designs. The Engineering Services team also maintains various activities and reports, drawing reproduction, and customer documentation. The team also selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. The team also must act as Subject Matter Experts providing technical support to the operations function as well as other functional areas within SJI including, Rates and Regulatory and LAN Services.

Essential Functions:
Performing data research, review, and analytics including additional investigative work
Using engineering analyses to drive change
Developing broad knowledge and skills in distribution integrity, transmission integrity, and pipeline cathodic protection
Evaluating, selecting, and applying standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional work tasks
Collaboratively using judgment to determine adaptations in methods for non-routine aspects of assignments
Understanding and applying knowledge of the Federal Code, New Jersey Administrative Code, South Jersey Gas Construction Manual, and South Jersey O&M Manual to data analytics
Technical review of Maximo data report exports
Working as a liaison between external vendors and internal personnel for System Integrity related work such as annual risk model updates and standard updates
Expanding overall knowledge related to distribution and transmission pipeline design, construction, and maintenance activities
Writing/updating procedures
Participating in group meetings and presenting results of work in collaboration with various departments
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Background –
Bachelor’s degree with 0 years of relevant experience in engineering, utility-related field, GIS, surveying, process management, industrial engineering, business, or similar field
Equivalent work experience in a public or private utility, data management, engineering, or similar field may be considered in lieu of degree
