We are seeking a Cloud Migration Architect to support the secure and compliant build and migration of financial applications, data, and infrastructure to cloud and SaaS platforms. This role requires expertise in financial services regulations, cloud security, and risk management. The candidate will assess existing IT environments, plan migration strategies, and provide technical oversight for transition while ensuring regulatory compliance, governance adherence, operational continuity, and data security. They will also establish and implement clear architecture principles, patterns, standards, and practices that seamlessly integrate into existing platforms and applications, while crafting compelling cases for change and developing robust business cases that articulate the benefits and ROI of proposed cloud solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Cloud Deployment Analysis and Planning:

  1. Assess financial services applications for cloud migration readiness.

  2. Develop secure and compliant cloud migration strategies aligned with industry regulations (e.g., PCI, SOX, GLBA, FFIEC, SEC, FINRA).

  3. Conduct risk assessments and cost-benefit analyses of cloud adoption.

  4. Collaborate with application teams, security teams, and compliance officers to align cloud strategies with financial industry requirements.

  5. Business Case creation for application deployments to Cloud and SaaS.

  6. Perform oversight for end-to-end Cloud and SaaS migrations for critical financial applications.

  7. Ensure minimal downtime and disruption to banking, trading, and financial operations.

  8. Work with cloud service providers (AWS, Azure) to plan secure financial solutions.

  9. Ensure adherence to Truist Cloud Governance process and controls.

  10. Ensure cloud migrations adhere to financial regulations, data privacy laws, and cybersecurity requirements.

  11. Collaborate with application and cybersecurity teams to mitigate cloud security risks, including data protection and identity management.

  12. Monitor and audit cloud environments for compliance and risk management.

  13. FinOps oversight

  14. Maintain detailed documentation of migration processes, risk assessments, and compliance requirements.

  15. Train internal teams on governance, standards, and best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology-related field, or equivalent education and related training

  2. Ten years of experience and high proficiency with the following information technologies:

  • Information security best practices

  • IT performance/scalability principles

  • Relational database technologies

  • Principles of a service oriented architecture

  • Mainframe, distributed, Web, and/or networking technologies

  • Design tools and techniques

  • Application development methodologies

  • Technology testing and change implementation best practices

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  2. Strong collaborative and consultative skills

  3. Ability to work independently or as a member of a team

  4. Ability to lead, direct and train teams of Developers and Systems Analysts

Preferred Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  2. 5+ years of experience in cloud migration, SaaS adoption, and IT infrastructure projects within financial services.

  3. Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure.

  4. Cloud Tenant Management with basic understanding of policy management, FinOps, and security principles.

  5. Strong understanding of cloud native and cloud ready design.

  6. Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles including scalability, resiliency, recoverability, security and observability.

  7. Strong understanding of financial regulations, compliance frameworks, and data security standards.

  8. Knowledge of DevSecOps principles, automation tools (Terraform) and CI/CD (GitLab).

  9. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

  10. Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect or Microsoft Certified Azure Security Engineer
