Newell Brands Supply Planner, Writing Division in Atlanta, Georgia

A “can-do” attitude along with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and cross functional collaboration is essential for success in this position.

This position will be responsible for day-to-day planning for sourced finished goods for the Writing Division. More specifically, this position will have the responsibility for our Sourced Finished Good suppliers in China, India, and US and will be focused primarily over the 1-4-month planning horizon. Additionally, this person will play a key role in supporting productivity through effective management and execution of supplier moves. Key measures of success included delivering service, projecting and managing Inventory levels, and supporting our productivity initiatives. In addition to management of the Import Supply Chain, the position will interface daily with Senior Supply Chain Leadership, Strategic Sourcing, Sales Planning, Finance, Demand Planning, and Customer Service.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day execution of planning responsibilities for import and domestically sourced items, including PO creation and management, vendor communication, transportation tracking, and customer service communications.

  • Drive best-in-class service >98% on A items and 95% overall service.

  • Manage vendor delivery performance and analyze the delay root cause to improve on-time delivery and flexibility.

  • Work with regional Supply Chains to maximize sales through effective management of supply constraints.

  • Responsibilities include identifying and communicating forward-looking constraints, active participation in our S&OE process through escalating known supply constraint issues in S&D – Supply & Demand Review Meeting, defining inventory levels, tracking vendor performance, and pursuing corrective action.

  • Partner with Transportation to monitor demonstrated transit times and lead efforts across the Writing Supply Chain to ensure SAP master data reflects demonstrated performance.

  • Support Sourcing product transition projects to ensure maximum productivity savings.

  • Partner with Demand Planning during the new product launch process to bridge initial product launch expectations to realized marketplace signals.

  • Be an advocate in the development process to ensure supply chain milestone dates are met and delays do not jeopardize Service and Inventory metrics.

  • Exemplify and drive Newell’s culture within Supply Chain.

Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related Analytical Discipline

  • 1-3 years of supply chain and manufacturing work experience ideally in supply chain or operations for a CPG, durable, or professional products company.

  • 5-10% travel required.
