Description
The Industry Solutions team within AWS Professional Services is responsible for the strategy, development, and management of industry-specific offerings, solutions, and products (OSP). We serve as a catalyst for ProServe's industry innovation at scale, accelerating customer value and driving sustainable growth through a diverse portfolio of assets. Collaborating closely with the AWS industry field organization, we develop scalable assets that can be deployed across global customers to expedite their outcomes on AWS.
AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.
We are seeking a Senior Technical Architect to join our team and lead the design and development of industry OSPs. Your focus will span multiple domains, including cloud infrastructure, modern microservices and applications, enterprise applications, data platforms, and generative AI, among others.
Key job responsibilities
Single-threaded owner for architectural and technical quality for a set of product and solution functionalities/domains.
Define the architecture design standards for industry cloud offerings/solutions/products.
Assess ideas harvested from the field around their technical design and capabilities.
Architect and design highly scalable, cloud-native solutions on the AWS platform using core services like API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB and ECS/EKS.
Manage the build-out of the technical assets associated with Industry Solutions portfolio.
Review code quality standards and ensure compliance with architectural standards.
Collaborate with the ProServe Security Assurance organization to align on required regulatory and compliance standards.
Conduct well architected review of the solution design artifacts.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of technical architecture and design experience.
5+ years of experience with one or more popular Full Stack programming languages such as Java, Golang, SQL, Typescript or Python.
3+ years of experience architecting, designing, and developing cloud-native applications and microservices in a cloud environment.
Experience leveraging core cloud services and technologies to build scalable applications.
Familiarity with a variety of cloud-native design patterns, frameworks, and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience implementing cloud-based solutions leveraging AWS services.
Experience in architecting data platforms and building GenAI applications
Experience managing microservices and distributed system platforms end-to-end
Hands on familiarity with popular Infrastructure-as-Code platforms such as AWS CDK or Terraform
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner, along with experience in collaborating across technical and business teams.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
