The opportunity:

The Senior IT Applications and Systems Administrator role will manage and administer various applications such as IFS, PTC Windchill, ECAD, and enterprise systems to ensure seamless integration between global machinery systems and enterprise systems. The Senior IT Applications and Systems Administrator will have strong general IT skills with experience in both the Windows and Linux OS platforms. The Senior IT Application and Systems Administrator will play an important role as member of the Westrock IT team being responsible for configuring, testing, applying patches, deploying upgrades, diagnosing, and resolving issues, addressing maintenance and enhancement requests for ERP systems (IFS), PTC Windchill, and other Global Machinery systems. The Senior IT Applications and Systems Administrator should be experienced with disaster recovery planning, testing, and can participate in after-hours support during evenings and weekends as needed.

How you will impact WestRock:

  • Manage and administer IFS, PTC Windchill, ECAD and applications.

  • Knowledge of Cloud based services, database technologies, networking, and servers.

  • Ability to manage and administer ERP (IFS) Application, configure, test, apply patches, and deploy upgrades.

  • Diagnose and resolve maintenance and enhancement requests from ServiceNow ticketing system.

  • Preferred experience includes proficiency in IFS ERP integrations, custom configurations, Lobby, reports development, V10, AURENA Technology, and functions.

  • Ability to collaborate with team members to maintain, upgrade, and optimize IFS systems performance, troubleshoot system-related issues, create, modify, and deactivate user accounts, and work with corporate DBA to perform preventative maintenance for the database.

  • Experience with disaster recovery planning, testing, and willingness to participate in after-hours support during evenings and weekends as needed.

  • Knowledge of enterprise systems and ability to ensure seamless integration between Global Machinery systems and enterprise systems, and develop integrations, reports, and modifications as required.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve system issues as needed, write KB articles for help desk support, and document technical specifications for system implementations and upgrades.

  • Working knowledge of cloud providers such as AWS and Azure to ensure system stability and security.

  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure system projects are delivered on time and within budget, and knowledge of best SDLC practices.

  • Knowledge of enterprise systems and ability to administer and maintain them, ensure seamless integration between systems and enterprise systems, and develop integrations, reports, and modifications for enterprise systems.

  • Understanding of networking, Cybersecurity, common programming languages (Python, C#, .Net...etc), and IT/OT layer knowledge

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and in a team environment, excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.

  • Experience managing and administering PTC Windchill hosted in the PTC cloud service, ability to monitor and troubleshoot the cloud infrastructure and application to ensure high availability and performance, and ability to coordinate with PTC support and technical teams to resolve any issues related to the cloud infrastructure or application.

  • Ability to configure, test, and deploy patches and upgrades to the PTC Windchill application in the cloud environment, work with users to troubleshoot system-related issues and provide training and support as needed, and collaborate with internal IT teams and vendors to solve technical problems.

  • Experience with disaster recovery planning and testing, ability to maintain technical documentation and provide technical guidance to team members, knowledge of developing and implementing best practices for the administration and support of PTC Windchill in the cloud environment, and awareness of industry trends and emerging technologies related to cloud computing.

  • Maintains up-to-date awareness of the current and future directions of the industry and associated technologies, and, where appropriate, makes recommendations for implementation of new/upgraded systems and technologies.

  • Work closely with Cybersecurity professionals to ensure all elements of the infrastructure and application remain hardened against cyber-attacks.

  • Support Data Migrations/Integrations efforts

  • Engage with Vendors and Consultants for support topic, technical innovations, project work and training.

What you need to succeed:

  • 4 - 6 years’ experience in similar roles/responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related area of study preferred.

  • Strong general IT skills with experience with both the Windows and Linux OS platforms.

  • Experience performing general systems administration tasks on Windows and/or Linux machines, including installing and updating software, configuring software applications, testing the installed and configured software, and troubleshooting problems.

  • Ability to read and digest technical information.

  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues within multiple systems.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to understand application code, write scripts, debug code, and ability to deploy.

  • Strong customer focus, including the ability to manage customer needs and multiple work priorities.

  • Needs strong oral and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent judgment and self-motivation.

  • Ability to follow instructions, written and verbal, to accomplish needed tasks.

  • Experience with Agile, DevOPS and other methodologies

  • Experience with ERP and PLM tools
