Our Revenue Technology and Analytics organization is hiring a Senior Software Development Engineer who will own complex set of technology solutions that enhance the customer travel experience from end to end, from customers purchasing flights to capturing data related to customer transactions, and everything in between. This team owns a variety of technical solutions that are created, deployed, and monitored throughout the customer travel ribbon. In this role, you will own a big component of how customers experience their travel experience with Delta, and how that translates to revenue.
Delta technologists collaborate and innovate to deliver impact to our customers. Responsibilities included but not limited to:
Leverage AWS and expertise in cloud-native environments to innovate and scale solutions, utilizing knowledge of current solutions to deliver enhanced solutions and make recommendations
Create, maintain, and troubleshoot application components in cloud environments; design and develop with consideration for Non-Functional Requirements (Scalability, Reliability, Availability, Observability, Fault Tolerance, Security, and Maintainability)
Serve as key advisor and developer of architecture, leading technical initiatives and projects requiring integration of cross-functional systems.
Own and iterate on system documentation/playbook(s) and serve as technical reviewer and contributor in requirements, design, and code review
Partner closely with our product and customer experience teams in developing test case design, performing test case execution, and resolving identified issues
Bring your continuous improvement mindset on all areas of development and deployment; using and contributing to CI/CD processes
Collaborate with developers across multiple products to build consensus on creation of reusable application components while continuing to write well designed, non-complex, testable, efficient code.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, with 7+ years of relevant technical experience
Minimum 6 years of Software Development experience in Java and SpringBoot, with demonstrated practice and use of tools on your resume
2+ years experience in AWS cloud-solutions and platforms; or major cloud providers such as Azure or GCP
Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases and web service development standards and practices, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and SOA services.
Experience working with containers, and managed container orchestrators (Kubernetes/OpenShift) in the cloud (AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service, Azure Kubernetes Service, Red Hat OpenShift)
Experience with microservices management
Experience in cloud managed services and DB (RDS, NoSQL/DynamoDB, serverless, etc.)
DevSecOps and/or automation experience in code testing, building, and deployment using tools like VeraCode, SonarQube, Tekton (preferred) or Jenkins, GitHub and/or GitLab.
Have implemented code coverage, code complexity, code quality.
Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in an agile development environment using workload management tools like VersionOne.
Experience with system integrations, optimizing performance and data integrity.
Passion for driving continuous improvement.
Proactive and able to quickly pick up new technologies.
Strong technical and non-technical communication skills.
Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills; individual should be able to resolve problems in a calm and quick manner and display a high degree of initiative and drive.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems with 2+ years of technical experience
AWS Certification is a plus
DevOps and/or automation experience in code testing, building, and deployment a plus
Experience building computer software within the airline industry is a plus
Knowledge Linux operating systems a plus
