Kelly Services Senior Project Engineer - Electrical in Atlanta, Georgia

Electrical Design Engineer | Atlanta, GA (Tucker)

Direct hire | Full-time | Hybrid

Kelly Engineering is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer with experience on construction projects to take the next step as a Senior Project Engineer and join our client’s team which is a global leader in electrical distribution systems in data centers, construction, healthcare, automotive, oil & gas, and automotive industries.

Pre-Quotation Support

  • Project Conceptualization: Prepare project layouts and help the sales team prepare quotations by providing quantity for products based on the customer's demand.

  • Communicate with the Sales team and customer to define project requirements, scope, and deliverables throughout the project life cycle.

  • Complete preliminary design calculations, layouts, and drawings for projects.

  • Prepare documents to communicate and refine the project concept with involved parties.

Quotation Support

  • Determine the appropriate products based on the project specifications, and prepare the bill of materials

  • Write company preferable specifications for potential projects.

  • Review all project specifications and ensure requirements are communicated, understood, and incorporated by other engineering/manufacturing disciplines

  • Attend site meetings with customer to better understand project needs.

Project Support

  • Engage in Design Stage: After receipt of an order, prepare drawings and perform necessary calculations and measurements to obtain information for field fit measurements to ensure a sound and final functional installation.

  • Work closely with the Sales team to review customer-redlined quotations and drawings and provide direction on revisions.

  • Finalize the specifications and quantities of all equipment purchased by our client, place internal orders for buyout equipment, and specify required delivery timelines and milestones.

  • Effectively monitor engineering schedules and communicate any potential impact to cost, cash flow

  • Prepare and issue a timely, complete, and concise job file

  • Complete and issue applicable contract specifications, which contain all pertinent information needed

  • Lead and provide timely resolution for all internal technical issues

  • Collaborate and communicate with all the team and stakeholders, especially developing friendly relations within the group

Site Support

  • Provide onsite customer training around the installation, testing, and maintenance of company Busway

  • Provide onsite technical support to contractors and installers to ensure correct installation

  • Perform or train contractors on field measurements for field fit pieces.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering

  • 8-12 years of experience of electrical experience on construction projects, electrical equipment manufacturer, or similar

  • Software experience: AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, SAP, and MS Office programs.

Travel

Approximately 20-30% for customer visits
