How will you make an impact in this role?
American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is dedicated to the success of businesses big and small, with the vision to be essential to our customers’ businesses every day. As part of GCS, the Proprietary Lend Card team sits within our Small Business Card, Loyalty and Strategy team in the Products organization. The Proprietary Lend team is responsible for our Blue Business Cash, Blue Business Plus and legacy lending cards which cut across both Cashback & MR offerings and meet a core need for our customers.
The Senior Product Manager, U.S. Small Business Proprietary Lend Card Portfolio , will manage the ongoing health of our Proprietary Lend portfolio to profitably grow our products while continuing to innovate in how we design, communicate, acquire, and engage our customers. They will help define product line strategies and develop and implement tactics to increase customer acquisition and engagement. A successful candidate in this role will have a passion for and ability to design and manage products with a best-in-class experience. They will be an analytical problem solver who can develop and execute winning strategies and influence a variety of stakeholders. Specific responsibilities include:
Developing and bringing to life tactics to optimize product line strategy and portfolio performance, while driving best-in-class economics, risk management and cardmember experience
Collaborating closely with marketing on prospect and customer strategies and identifying tangible opportunities to increase product acquisition
Serve as a primary Proprietary Lend thought leader and product champion for partners such as Marketing, Finance, Risk and Operational Excellence
Work closely with the Proprietary Lend Product Director to lead other ad-hoc strategic initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
5 years of product management or related experience
Strategic thinker with a strong customer focus and desire to understand and relate to small business owner needs
Ability to influence and lead projects across band levels and cross-functional teams and align internal partners who have varying priorities
Demonstrates a growth mindset that embraces change and is adaptable to a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Demonstrates critical thinking with a good level of understanding of product P&L drivers and lending economics
Ability to collect and analyze data/insights to drive impactful strategies
Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to present to senior leadership
Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and project management skills
Bachelor’s degree

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
