HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT:

The Senior Manager Safety & Security role oversees and manages the safety and security risks for our retail stores (1000 locations), across the US/Canada. This role partners with cross-functional leadership to ensure safety/security compliance of all state/provincial regulations across a dynamic landscape.

This role reports to the Senior Director, Store Operations and is based in our Atlanta, GA corporate office.

Safety and Security Operations - Retail Stores (50%)

Support and lead safety program collaboration across multiple teams, acting as a partner to location leads.

Create and implement health and safety policies in accordance with regulatory/provincial compliance in US/Canada

Lead the concepts of business continuity and development of action plans for retail stores in partnership with Store Operations

Partner with Risk Management leaders to ensure alignment and agreement with continuity plans and future actions

Responsible for establishing training programs to identify and mitigate safety/security related risks across the distribution centers, offices, and stores in partnership with key location leaders

Maintain established Active Shooter protocols in conjunction with DC and office location leaders and ensure annual training for all employees; conduct active shooter training in offices.

Facilitate employee safety training programs and coach safety leads to ensure compliance with federal and state/provincial requirements in partnership with key business partners/external vendors

Partner with on-site leaders for total field organization to ensure proper utilization and execution of contract security programs and overall regulatory needs

Acts as a resource for DC/Retail/Office leaders to offer support as needed in shared safety-related programs, trainings, site security, and inspections/audits

Safety and Risk Compliance (50%)

Coordinate safety and security emergencies, including weather-related events, and communicate to leadership in timely manner through the Emergency Notification System (ENS)

Ensure compliance with Safety & Security procedures and policies (in partnership with Benefits Team), develop solutions, and maintain clear lines of communication to location leaders

Oversee regular risk assessments and workplace inspections in partnership with on-site teams to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate corrective plans as it relates to employee tasks, building safety, weather emergencies, and disaster recovery.

Recognize, practice and advise on safe working habits using approved safety principles

Meet and collaborate with external consultants as needed to ensure facilities are in compliance with regulations & laws in partnership with Benefits teams

Identify trends and extract insights to monitor and report on market changes including macroeconomics and peers in regard to safety/security.

Partner with onsite facility and security teams in managing security processes to include completion of site audit and administering site security practices & policies

Keep leaders informed of safety related issues & concerns identified within scope of responsibility; be on call to coordinator /communicate in case of unexpected events

Recognize, practice and advise location leaders for Office, Distribution Centers and store on safe work habits using approved safety principles and company policies & procedures

Conduct safety inspections and audits to minimize workplace hazards

WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:

Must have:

Minimum of 7+ years of experience in managing workplace safety and security related work, preferably in retail store operations

Bachelors Degree

Effective collaborator and influencer across people, regions, and functions

Strong communications, interpersonal and relationship building skills

Knowledge of workplace safety, OSHA, and related federal/state/provincial regulations

Solution-oriented thinker with proven experience in developing and implementing progressive programs and policies

Excellent sense of professional judgment; demonstrated ability to exercise confidentiality with sensitive information

Proven experience leading safety & security program management in a retail environment

Robust knowledge of and experience with Canadian provincial regulations

Strong analytical and tactical skills

Travel US & Canada - 30%
