Project manager to develop operational processes for Medical Operations Coordination for the Southern Regional Disaster Response System (SRDRS). SRDRS’ Medical Operations Coordination (MOC) supports patient movement using daily functional tools to ensure load-balancing across healthcare facilities and systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • As part of the management team, the Project Manager collaborates with senior divisional leadership to manage and execute special projects and to provide business support related to external relations, budget and finance, human resources, and operations.

  • Attends meetings with divisional executive leadership, develops and manages work plans, and ensures or facilitates appropriate follow up.

  • Drafts key communications such as articles, presentations, reports, and policies.

  • Researches strategic intent of, develops agendas for, and prepares materials or presentations for meetings.

  • Conducts complex projects requiring comprehensive research and data analysis.

  • Collaborates with others to facilitate projects and ensure timelines and action plans are accomplished.

  • Provides leadership to project team members and ensures integration of relevant business processes.

  • Prepares and assists in budget analyses.

  • Participates in long-range financial planning, trending, and budgeting.

  • Ensures the integrity and accuracy of financial information and reporting.

  • Analyzes data and reports, identifies and summarizes trends, develops executive summaries.

  • Represents divisional executive leadership at meetings.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

  • Works directly State Public Health Departments, Health Care Systems, and EMS agencies across HHS Region 4 in the development of a cross-state/cross-system patient movement concept.

  • Serve as subject matter expert for the creation of plans, policies, and procedures for the HHS Region 4 Medical Operations Coordination plan.

  • Serve as liaison to hospitals, Department of Public Health, and regional healthcare coalitions in the creation of regional Medical Operations Coordination plans.

  • Coordinates a diverse group of stakeholders and collaborating partners to set goals for specific project activities and designs, implements and oversees processes to ensure key tasks are completed in an appropriate and timely manner. (e.g. electronic medical record systems, Burn Centers, Pediatric Hospitals, Adult Hospitals)

  • Create or develop presentations, education seminars, tools, templates and other education or training materials to assist in the creation of state and regional plans.

  • Facilitate and conduct meetings with state and local stakeholders relating to medical operations coordination to include integration with existing transfer/referral systems and the DPH staffed ESF-8 desk.

  • Review documentation and toolkits related to Medical Operations Coordination Cells provided by other states and federal partners.

  • Engage other state partners in discussions regarding patient movement transfer plans.

  • Continuously update the evolving regional patient movement CONOPS.

  • Participate and lead webinars or in person meetings with stakeholders.

  • Supports continued development and expansion of Emory’s SRDRS patient movement and tracking operational capacity

  • Attends all relevant SRDRS meetings; contributes ideas and monitors the planning process as required.

  • Participates in drafting of required annual reports.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration or other related field.

  • Five years of experience with an emphasis on project management and finance/budget analysis.

  • Expertise in use of office technology, including the MicroSoft Suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint,) Internet, and e-mail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Pre-hospital collaboration or personal experience (i.e. EMT or paramedic certification, especially in a rural setting).

  • Health care informatics or telecommunications experience.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong leadership skills, interpersonal skills, consensus building skills.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
