Home Depot Organic Social Manager - Community Management in Atlanta, Georgia

Position Purpose:

The Social Media Community Manager will support the Sr. Manager of Social Media Channels in driving the community management strategy, social listening and reporting, and measurement of social media efforts across owned social channels. This person will lead community management initiatives in alignment with the Public Relations and the Customer Care teams, aiming to drive brand love and provide positive interactions with customers. The Channel Manager will become a trusted member of the community, serving as a liaison between the community and the brand.

Objectives include community management, social channel management and governance, paid social media planning, supporting merchandising and marketing priorities, growing engagement in social media, as well as driving traffic into stores and awareness of campaigns/products. This person will need to understand the use of Social Media channels, how they can be best leveraged and current on potential uses to drive traffic and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategy and execution for social media community management, inclusive of surprise & delight, influencer relationship management, social listening and brand-level Issues response

  • Collaborate on communications strategy for Social campaigns, developing editorial calendars, positioning & messaging

  • Listens, monitors and trends conversations, translate insights into marketing plans

  • Advise & make recommendations on social media integration into business priorities, goals & objectives; share knowledge w/key stakeholders

  • Direct external agency team in execution of activities

  • Explore and evaluate emerging social media opportunities and tools to build strategies and proposals for implementing effective Social Media campaigns to drive the communication strategy for the organization.

  • Ensure that programs are delivered on-time and within budget and that proper measurements are applied to determine the effectiveness of marketing and social spend and resource

  • Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media programs, and analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results.

  • Analyze sales data, economic data, demographic information, competitor information and voice of customer data to develop and execute marketing strategies for key markets.

  • Work cross-functionally with key stakeholders (e.g., Merchandising, Marketing, dot com, PR, and Social)

  • Responsible for effectively driving partnerships internally and externally in the organization to include Marketing managers, as well as Marketing and Merchants to align communication campaigns to the business

Direct Manager/Direct Reports:

  • Position reports to Sr. Manager

  • Number of Direct Reports - 2

Travel Requirements:

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Working Conditions:

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.

  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding and practical application of social media channels

  • Retail Marketing experience

  • Budget Management

  • Agency Account/Project Management a plus

Minimum Education:

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Minimum Years of Work Experience:

  • 5

  • Understands social media channels; Has excellent written communications skills both written and verbal

  • A pragmatic and professional nature. Able to establish and meet deadlines and to establish clear priorities quickly. Ability to work effectively under pressure and to handle a heavy work load.

  • Strong analytically with demonstrated business planning skills

  • Retail Marketing experience

  • Project Management

  • Managing a major consumer Brand experience
