The HR Risk Governance Excellence Leader enables the operational excellence of the function through process leadership, leadership of the Enterprise Workplace Experience program, and support and leadership of the function in executing enterprise risk programs to include business continuity and crisis management. This role drives standards and executional excellence across the functional processes and partners closely with first and second line risk partners to support the function in successfully implementing risk programs, or implementing responses to risk related issues. This role leads a team responsible for process mapping, risk program support and execution.

**This role is an office centric role at 4 days per week.**

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time .

Process Excellence:

(a.) Leads and manages overall process inventory for function. Responsible for determining standards for HR processes and advising function on prioritization and quality of existing processes. leverages feedback/input from Risk partners to define priorities.

(b.) Partner with HR leaders in creating new processes identifying potential risks and controls for function; Consults with groups on process improvement.

Functional Risk Program Support/Execution:

(a.) Serve as Liaison with first line risk function on functional related risk requests and programs (e.g., RCSA); supporting teams in HR to execute as appropriate. Provide input on emerging and existing risks/concerns.

(b.) In partnership with Governance and Control Officers, serves as functional point of contact on regulatory requests and reviews commentary for regulatory exams/responses.

(c.) Advise on effectiveness of QA/QC processes. Partners closely with functional owners to improve where appropriate.

(d.) Recommend and implement responses that mitigate HR compliance risk as part of new initiatives or changes to existing processes and coordinates with, as appropriate, key stakeholders.

Crisis Management:

(a.) Serve as the HR Crisis Management Lead. Manage and report on the progress of the Human Resources response during Crisis/Disaster Recovery efforts as these occur throughout the Truist footprint, and drive implementation of HR response efforts.

(b.) Serve as Core Enterprise Response Team (CERT) Lead and Executive Response Operating Counsel (EROC) Proxy to Serve as the HR Crisis Management Lead.

Business Continuity:

(a.) Manage the development, testing, and implementation of the HR Business Recovery Plan. Maintain strong partnerships with GCO team to support all necessary efforts.

(b.) BTCM Coordinator that will liaison with GCO in enabling functional ownership; coordinating process around Business Continuity exercises ad business impact assessments.

Workforce Experience Program Lead:

(a.) Leads HR pillar of Workforce Experience program to include Work Location and Mobility policy owner and space planner for HR. Leads efforts to evaluate organization and HR’s effectiveness on Workplace Experience

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and related training

  2. 7 years of human resources experience, or related experience in comparable function with at least three years in a leadership role with direct reports

  3. Direct experience with HR, risk or related area

  4. Broad knowledge of functional areas within Human Resources

  5. Strong data analysis and project management skills

  6. Strong leadership skills; ability to influence others toward positive change outcomes

  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and develop solutions.

  8. Experience with process, risk and control documentation

  9. Exceptionally skilled at building relationships and partnerships; ability to lead and influence across multiple stakeholder audiences; Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to interface with all levels of management in an effective manner

  10. Advanced written and verbal communication skills with specific experience in facilitation/presentation

  11. Ability to build and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with colleagues at all levels of the organization

  12. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products

  13. Extended availability during evenings and weekends will be required during enterprise or crisis events

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in leading or executing human capital risk programs

  2. Formal experience or training in process management/mapping

  3. Master’s degree in business, human resource or related area or equivalent education and related training
