Winland Foods Food Manufacturing Maintenance Supervisor in Atlanta, Georgia

Provide guidance and supervision for all planned maintenance activities as well as direct supervision of all parts room activities and staff in order to ensure that appropriate inventory levels are maintained. Plans, estimates and supervises outside contractor services. Processes, approves and prioritizes work orders, examines and determines best approach for work completion, including obtaining necessary schematics.

Job Description:

  • Leads activities of workers engaged in all planned maintenance activities including repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment.

  • Provides technical and problem-solving support for the plant and maintenance crews.

  • Supports and executes plant specific maintenance strategies to achieve Plant’s key performance goals for overall maintenance performance.

  • Assures maintenance repair schedules are met and all issues are resolved and communicated in a timely fashion. Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.

  • Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.

  • Responsible for preventative maintenance systems.

  • Plan and execute calibration programs with contractors

  • Supervise outside contractor services used to repair or maintain plant equipment

  • Recording of projects and work orders for easy retrieval

  • Manage the parts room in order to ensure that the correct parts are available to maintenance team

  • Manage the maintenance requisition program; quotes, purchase order requests, maintain progress within the system

  • Liaison between the production engineering and maintenance teams and maintains records for analysis.

  • SAP or related inventory management.

  • Professional relationship building skills with contractors and suppliers.

  • Proven mechanical and electrical skills set for interaction with maintenance and production operations.

  • Coordination of activities between production and maintenance and acts as the professional interface for the company.

  • Safely and accurately perform all duties as required for this position to ensure the safety and quality of our products.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • High school or equivalent. Preferred BS Engineering, Business, or related preferred.

  • Three plus years of related experience

  • SAP systems experience preferred

  • Ability to build positive, strong business relationships with vendors, suppliers and contractors

  • Attention to detail

  • Balance multiple priorities

  • Strong computer skills

  • Inventory management, JDE, SAP, etc. required.

  • Positive company relationships with all team members including management, maintenance, production team members.

  • Proven mechanical and electrical skill sets for interaction with the maintenance and production operations.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Must be able to perform the following: standing, climbing, pulling, and or pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and stooping.

  • Ability to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time.

  • Good physical condition with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.

  • Good hand/eye coordination, motor skills, 20/20 corrected vision and hearing within the normal range.

Environmental, Health and Safety Requirements:

  • Must wear all required personal protection equipment associated with specific manufacturing work environment and job duties as stated in the Employee Handbook, posted policies, or as assigned by leadership personnel.

  • Maintain clean and safe working environment and follow all safety policies and procedures, such as lock out/tag out, safe lifting techniques, and all others as instructed.

  • Inform Management of any food safety or quality issues or of any processes which become noncompliant with specified requirements.

Food Safety:

  • Notify supervision of any repairs or adjustments that are required.

  • Understand, observe, and comply with the handling and usage of the color-coded container policy while in the Production Areas.

  • Perform all duties necessary to meet Company, Customer and/or Government requirements/standards as prioritized by the Company.

  • Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.

  • Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system.

  • Controls further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
