The Division of Advancement and Alumni Engagement utilizes resources, technology, and business for the purpose of soliciting alumni, donor engagement, donor research, and stewardship throughout Emory University and Health Systems. We are currently seeking a Director of Pipeline Optimization.

The Pipeline Optimization team supports the Advancement and Alumni Engagement division by identifying major funders for university initiatives, providing research, overseeing portfolio management, and proposal management. This position will report to the Executive Director of Pipeline Optimization and support pipeline optimization efforts for Emory Healthcare patient prospects and the Medicine, Healthcare, and Discovery Programs team.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Oversees overall strategy, design, training, guidelines, and policies that increase the effectiveness of fundraising objectives.

  • Assists senior leadership in developing and implementing methods of measuring and stimulating individual and organizational performance.

  • Leads a team responsible for designing and executing prospect identification projects and processes, using various databases and industry best practices.

  • Directs research-driven portfolio management and leads assignment programs to help guide the identification and assignment of prospective major gift donors in an efficient, organized, and timely manner.

  • Collaborates with fundraising staff, senior leadership, and other internal clients to understand their informational and business needs and develops innovative solutions to address moves management and fundraising strategies.

  • Conducts semiannual portfolio reviews with frontline fundraisers to assure portfolios are filled with the most promising prospects, balanced by fundraising stage, age, capacity, inclination, and other indicators in an effort to maximize return on fundraising efforts.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS: In addition to the duties outlined above, the Director may be required to:

  • Partner with Portfolio Management staff to develop a framework for portfolio review meetings, including overall purpose, strategy, data needs, and reporting materials.

  • Partner with Pipeline Optimization staff and utilize knowledge of prospect research and portfolio management practices to provide regular prospect data, portfolio updates, and ad-hoc reporting.

  • Provide guidance related to best practices for patient prospecting, prospect research and portfolio management, serving as a resource to fundraising staff and answering questions regarding prospect tracking and portfolio analysis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree and five years of experience in fundraising, non-profit, or alumni engagement or related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successful candidates will possess experience conducting prospect research, coordinating a prospect management system, directing activities toward prospect identification, database coordination, system design and/or report design and production, particularly for a patient constituency and academic medical center.

  • Experience leading teams, working independently as well as collaboratively to achieve goals, with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with attention to detail, the ability to work with ambiguity, and navigate a complex work environment.

  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills and possess the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Commitment to delivering excellent customer service, the ability to work collaboratively.

  • Possess a high level of professionalism and commitment to confidentiality with sound judgment and discretion.

  • Prior experience in advancement, fundraising, alumni engagement, non-profit, or a university setting.

  • Flexibility to accommodate changing priorities and deadlines.

  • Experience working with various technologies, including knowledge and experience with project management software, data analysis tools, and CRM systems.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
